Your characters are a little rough, but decent, same for movement. But I can see that getting better with practice. But I LOVE how you thought through the scene and made it a story. It flows really really well. I wish I could give you a higher score, but adding traffic noises at the beginning breaks the rules of the contest.

That balloon and balloon string animation is amazing. Only weak point is, old woman's face and mouth need more emotional expressiveness--kinda dead-ish as is. Beautifully done animation overall.
