I think the overall animation could be a little more exaggerated. Not too much, because I like the tone you were going for, but with a little more movement on the head and a bit more exaggeration on his lips when he pronounces the words this piece could be way stronger. Other than that it's pretty good.

For a shot this tight, that lip sync has to be spot on. This however needs a lot of work. Your shapes need exaggerated. I like the motion on the head. I feel the sadness.

Nice subtle expressions and acting. Lypc sync is a bit off. Good job on toning this down, though.
