You could improve it by staging the characters further apart, at the minute they overlap making it hard to read everything theyre doing

Great 2D work, great illustration, decent motion - you really don't notice that it's limited animation at first. But you're breaking the heck out of the 180 degree rule with your cuts! If these are layered, you may be able to fix it by just flipping the standing guy's front view horizontally, and adjusting the staging so he appears to the right of the seated one.
