I've been a part of film festivals where an animated or experimental film is entered by high schoolers and it's always..

"Where is the standard? And should those shift?"

And my answer is,, "If this is a film in a college with an animation program, STAY IN SCHOOL and JOT EVERY IDEA DOWN."

So my answer is 'keep going' because that's how to improve.
