I think if you move your camera closer to the guy it would improve your animation. (i would love to see the facial animation a bit closer ;) )

A great character, totally predictable behavior yet somehow surprising and hilarious that he would just get up and leave like that. I think you could cut out the beginning shot because it's more important for us to get a read of this male character than it is of the female and as of now, the shot already feels like it drags down the beginning. I think a brief shot of him glancing through her file, up to her, and back down to the file would do the job.
