focal point in the first seconds for me is the bottom of the glass in the mothers hands. try picking a camera angle so that the girl is surrounded by the windows in the background giving her more contrast and therefore focus and interest. And if you do these overshoulder shots dont make the foreground character take up that much screenspace, and dont put the other character right in the middle. but more space between them.

Could work... but the movements go a bit too slow... with more focused speed and energy, it'd be even better... also, her last movements could use some expression...
