Okay, another ventriloquist trick? This is kinda cheapening. It could be played with creativity, but it's more like handwaving here.

Love the concept! The lip sync is right-on. The hand-talking looks believable, but since it's the focus of the action, you could probably push that a little further. I recommend watching puppeteering or seeing if you can find a puppeteer practicing without a puppet online. You can get a lot of emoting out of the bend of a wrist :)
