My character summoning his other self to protect him and seeing what has happened, they begin to talk.

The guy's little head rub during his audible freakout is a nice bit of acting, but make sure he's freaking out for the whole time we see him! And It cheapens the whole thing when you make him get all cute and smiley at the end, so keep him in freakout mode.
