good setting and feeling in the acting, but parts just feel off, and the lip sync could use some work around the early middle.

Looks great, The head squash was a bit noticeable in sections. Try copying the Y translate of the brow curve to the Y translate of the Squash and then tone the curve down to about 5 percent squash and it should give some life to the head squash with out making it to abrupt or noticeable and keeps it in sync with the brow motions.

Nice performance, but I think the lipsync feels off, I'd redo it.

Character animation here is absolutely fantastic, but the little accents you've added in the background and additional lighting really take away from the piece as a whole as they aren't nearly as well animated or produced.
Absolutely wonderful character work though!
