The overlapping movement gives it some life, but the "smack" doesn't have a diegetic (in-film) motivated sound. The movement is naturalistic.

It's got great fluidity of motion there. The animation conveys a nice sense of realism conveying the character's stress. The darkly saturated color scheme and dim lighting deliver an atmospheric vibe suitable to the comp.
