the ending pose was good, the concept was there but the first couple frames the boy in the front looked lifeless. I felt he should be expressing something on his face, like he is thinking.

Hello there. My recommendation for you would to practice your posing skills. Focus on contrapposto and line of action. Also check out Ed Hook's "Acting for Animators" if you haven't already.
