Hold the expression and pose at "smart guy" for longer. He feels like he's really trying to connect with the other person there, and that's the emotion you should stick with, don't have him look away. Good job.

A sweet concept. I especially like your character's facial gestures. I feel like the hand with the phone could have had a bit more personality to it. It was a bit stiff

Love the story telling in this. It looks smooth, and the eye contact is, even though I can't see the other persons face.

The animation is a bit simple, but I like it. The context is quite touching. If the animation was pushed a little more it might have been the best of the competition for me, but pushing too much in the wrong places would have broken the more subdued mood you put there.
I will be honest, I don't know what you should do to improve your work, but I like it and feel it could use a little extra something... I just don't know what.
