I like the idea you came up with, body language works well. But entire character including head and face needs to move, not just bits of it. Try to avoid copy-pasting character drawings or bits of character drawings. Lip syncing and facial expressiveness actually works pretty well here. Reminds me a little bit of "Peanuts".

Here's some fast action, with the limbs moving like whips. This is a LOT stronger with sharper, more vectorlike drawings. Focus on ink and deliberation!
