While the mood is coming across, this is lacking some real appeal. It's tough to marry boredom or the mundane with the notion that you want to have an entertaining shot. But try incorporating some more dynamic poses, like, for example, leaning the mean heavily on his free hand and playing up the boredom with big eye-rolls. You could really push the cartoony sarcasm in this.
