What is wrong with you?
The goal of the descriptive imagery is to explain the scene, so if you had no audio, or it was translated into another language, the viewer can still follow along. By applying this tactic, it makes the potential audience global.

too simple, any animator could do that, I feel not enough motion was added to this shot, you have two very simple characters that could have been masterpieces if only you animated them more with movement.

I would have liked to have seen a little more variation in the poses but I really like the style of it.

If this was a commercial project you wanted to get done easily with the least time, this approach would be fine. As a practice in acting, this is poor.

I don't really think line boil qualifies as character animation. These guys are almost entirely stationary for the whole thing, and when they do move, they just pop to their next pose. It's a nice artsy piece, but I think you've largely missed the point.
