there's some interesting choices here on staging and lighting and the clear power dynamic between the characters, but this shot should be all about the mom. you cut too quickly so we miss the best bits of her line and the son isn't doing anything. don't worry about lip sync. see how you can make a scene communicate everything with just body language.
