The right character's expressions are solid! I think the biggest thing that can help you sell the grabbing action better is learning about constraint relationships. A constraint is a way of making one object follow another-- so in this case, you want the hand of the green character to follow the shoulder of the black character so it feels like they're really gripping it. The reason why you can't just regular parent the green character's hand to the black character's shoulder is because that kind of parenting cannot be changed throughout a scene (which isn't great because you want the hand to leave the shoulder eventually) but more importantly because the wrist already has the elbow as a parent (in FK). I think once you practice that, your character actions will look more believable. Nice job!

You need to go back and learn the basics of animation. Start with the bouncing ball exercise.
